Album Review
As with most country music greats, there is no shortage of Lefty Frizzell anthologies, so the arrival of something as bland-sounding as "16 Biggest Hits", especially in light of Columbia/Legacy's excellent 34-track "Look What Thoughts Will Do" collection, does little to prick up the ears of longtime fans. Most of the classics are here -- "Saginaw, Michigan," "Long Black Veil," "If You'Ve Got The Money I'Ve Got The Time" -- but the lack of "Shine, Shave, Shower (It'S Saturday)" and "Run 'Em Off" makes "16 Biggest Hits" more of a sampler than a legitimate overview. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
