Album Review
More of a force on-stage than in the studio, Lakeside nonetheless placed well over a dozen singles on the Billboard charts, most of which are included on "Ultimate Collection". Released as part of Capitol's rejuvenation of the Solar catalog, the disc's quality is similar to that of the Shalamar and Midnight Star compilations, and it's as thorough as any casual fan could possibly want. The sound is crisp, and the liner notes -- from A. Scott Galloway -- are typically informative and insightful. The disc replaces 1998's "Galactic Grooves", featuring a very similar track list that includes "Fantastic Voyage," "It'S All The Way Live," and "Your Love Is On The One." ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
