Album Review
Electric tenor saxophone innovator John Klemmer was at the height of his fame around the time he recorded this LP. Although one can consider these performances to fit into Klemmer's "mood music" period, he does stretch himself in spots and sounds quite original. With backing by a rhythm section that includes keyboardist Dave Grusin and sometimes acoustic guitarist Larry Carlton, Klemmer caresses the melodies (all but one by the saxophonist), displays his mastery of the Echoplex, and comes up with some colorful solos. [Verve's remastered edition was issued in 2008.] ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
