Album Review
Instead of presenting New Order as a progressive dance band as "Substance" did, "The Best of New Order" showcases New Order the pop band, condensing most of their hit singles onto one disc. A couple of remixes are thrown in (Shep Pettibone takes over "Blue Monday"), and several classics, including "Temptation" and "Ceremony" are missing, but it is still a concise explanation of why the group was one of the most important dance groups of the '80s. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
