Album Review
Like its predecessor, "Living in Oblivion, Vol. 2" is an entertaining but frustrating collection of new wave and MTV hits from the early '80s. A number of great new wave singles are here -- "Mickey," "Love Plus One," "Just Got Lucky," "88 Lines About 44 Women," "Church of the Poison Mind" -- but the album loses momentum by placing slick late-'80s MTV hits like T'Pau's "Heart and Soul" and the Power Station's "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" next to non-hits by Debbie Harry and Sigue Sigue Sputnik. Even if it isn't a perfect collection, it is fun and should satisfy casual new wave fans; more serious collectors should purchase these songs on the multi-volume "Just Can't Get Enough". ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
