Album Review
Although his personal life was plagued with troubles during the late '80s, Steve Earle wrote a wealth of first-rate songs during that time and the majority of those tunes are collected on the double-disc set, "Ain't Ever Satisfied". Spanning his career from 1985's "Guitar Town" to 1991's "The Hard Way", "Ain't Ever Satisfied" hits nearly every high point from his studio albums and throws in a handful of rarities, including live covers of the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen, for good measure. It's an excellent retrospective, illustrating exactly why Earle was one of the most acclaimed country singer/songwriters of the latter half of the '80s. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
