"20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Bobby "Blue" Bland" collects a dozen of his definitive performances, including "I Pity The Fool," "Stormy Monday Blues," and "Who Will The Next Fool Be?" Within a dozen songs, the collection spans Bland's most aching, plaintive moments, such as "I'M Too Far Gone (To Turn Around)," as well as more up-tempo fare like "That'S The Way Love Is" and "Ain'T Nothing You Can Do." While this collection can't compete with more complete best-ofs like "Greatest Hits, Vol. 1" or "The Anthology", "The Millennium Collection" is still a decent introduction to Bland's powerful, influential style. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
