Album Review
Written in the months before his marriage to Amy Grant, the songs on "Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye" exemplify the words of a man who has been transcended by the power of love. Twelve of the album's 13 tracks, all written or co-written by Gill, relay the romance that has filled Gill's life, from illustrating ultimate sacrifices to showing heart-warming declarations of love, including the euphoric "When I Look Into Your Heart," a duet with his new bride and co-written by her. Gill is "The Luckiest Guy In The World," known lonely "For The Last Time," and wants to share the "Little Things." Enough said. If you're curious about the 13th track, "Hey God" is a moving tribute to honor his friend, the late golfer Payne Stewart. A must-have album for Gill fans (his daughter Jenny is a delight on harmony vocals for "That Friend Of Mine") and anyone else who is at the height of a new romance. ~ Maria Konicki, All Music Guide
