Album Review
Mexican Limite's leading vocalist, Alicia Villarreal, recorded her first solo album during June and July 2001 in Los Angeles, CA. "Soy Lo Prohibido", produced by Homero Patrón, includes a version of the '60s hit "Acompáñame," performed along with Pedro Fernández; the up-tempo "Ladrón"; Rebelde's "Te Quedo Grande La Yegua"; and Amparo Rubin's "Llevo Las Cuentas." Alicia Villarreal's "Soy Lo Prohibido" became a refreshing contemporary record in the traditional Mexican music scene. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
