Album Review
"Selena" isn't quite a greatest-hits collection, but it's not really a rarities compilation, either. Instead, the record comprises selected Tejano hits, live medleys, and cuts by the Vidal Brothers, Emilio, and the Barrio Boyzz, among others. The end result is an enjoyable sampler, even if it isn't the best place to become acquainted with the tragically departed Tejano icon. [The edition with bonus tracks features Selena's rendition of "La Bamba," as well as spoken liner notes from her family and former bandmembers.] ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
