Album Review

"Crashings" is the debut release for the band Falling Up. What the band manages to offer up on the disc are guitar-driven melodies that drip with sweat and working class attitude. Cuts like "Bittersweet" and "Broken Heart" are tunes that utilize a well-presented guitar formula. Cut after cut possesses strong rhythmic charges only occasionally veering from the strong guitar attack to bolster electronic nuances. Vocalist Jessy Ribordy is an apt voice who shines throughout the disc with vocals that lean towards the alternative (check out "The Gathering,") but still displays the spit and vinegar of bands like Good Charlotte and Simple Plan. "Crashings" is a stellar release for Falling Up. The band shows their chops with well-written songs that are delivered flawlessly. ~ Steven Douglas Losey, All Music Guide
