Album Review
"Something Special" is another excellent George Strait record from the mid-'80s, featuring new traditionalist classics like "Left'S Gone" and "The Chair." Occasionally, the album wanders into softer, more sentimental territory than Strait has explored in the past, yet that only makes the straight country more effective. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
