Album Review
"Number 1's: '60s Pop" features 20 of the decade's top hits embracing soul, sunshine pop, girl groups, folk-rock, and Motown. The highlights include "Lightnin' Strikes" by Lou Christie, "Green Tambourine" by the Lemon Pipers, "Loco-Motion" by Little Eva, "You'Ve Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" by the Righteous Brothers, "Eve Of Destruction" by Barry McGuire, and "Monday, Monday" by the Mamas & the Papas. While there are no surprises here, all of these tracks are the original recordings and have been remastered. Hip-O released two other volumes in the "Number 1's" series, "'70s Pop" and "'60s Soul", that are of equally high quality. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
