Album Review
Mothers have inspired, plotted, loved, and divided since the very dawn of time, and their tributes are many and richly deserved, but for whom this 17-track compilation from Liberty Records is intended may escape some listeners. "I Love Mom" nurtures (Joss Stone's "Security"), gives thanks (Maze's "Song For My Mother"), and hints at the incestuous (Great White's "Once Bitten Twice Shy") without ever drawing the line -- even "She Believes In Me" from Santa-faced, mommy-loving Kenny Rogers feels kind of dirty. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
